It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Coy Proffitt (Mountain City, Tennessee), born in Butler, Tennessee, who passed away on March 24, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Harrison Proffitt and Crathie Blackburn Proffitt; his wife June Proffitt; his son Johnny Proffitt; his grandchild Shannon Proffitt; and his siblings, Sue Wrinklewitz, Bertha Scott, Marvin Proffitt, Dorcy Proffitt and Charles Proffitt.

He is survived by : his sons, Jack R. Proffitt (Renee), Greg Proffitt (Ann) and Tim Proffitt (Carolyn); his daughter-in-law Nancy Proffitt; his brothers, Hantford Proffitt, Russell Proffitt and Ricky Proffitt; his grandchildren, Ethan Proffitt (Tonya), Amber Walls (Josh), Lexie Proffitt, LeAnn Brooks (Greg), Nichole Proffitt, Aron Freeman, Danielle and Ashtin Rhymer (Anthony); and his great grandchildren, Jacob Proffitt, Quinton Brooks, Aden Brooks, Arianna Brooks, Aubriella Rose Proffitt, Kyla Walls, Nathaniel Walls of Kreed Walls, A. J, Freeman, Easton Freeman, Kasen Rhymer and Maeleigh Rhymer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
