He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis A. Scheirer and Elsie Conway Scheirer; his son Matthew Lee Scheirer; and his close friend Bessie Moody. He is survived by: his daughter Ann Marie Phipps; the mother of his children Linda M. Scheirer; his sisters, Sally Ann Corbin (Floyd) and Jean Kerr (Chuck); his grandchildren, Cassie Phipps, Katie Oakes, Olivia Scheirer, Wyatt Scheirer and Johnathan Looney; and his niece Beth Ann Corbin-Wilber (Steve Spraglin). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Charles B. Hux Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home (300 W Main St, Mountain City, TN 37683). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
