He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie McFadden Bays Matheson and Ernest Howard Bays; his stepfather Billy Hoover Matheson; and his brothers, Benjamin Wiley and Jimmie Dale.
He is survived by: his siblings, Nora Lee Philyaw (Bobby), Franklin Robert (Naomi), Ted Maxwell, Edward Glenn (Bo), John Dulles (Kathy) and Blair Scott (Melissa); his siblings' children, Christine, Elizabeth Bays, Gragg (Doug), Mary Ellen Bays, Martha (Ralph), Holman (Heath), Bobby Stalnaker (Beth), Johnny Bays (Christy), David Bays (Marylin), Jesse Bays (Rhonda) and David G Bays; and his pet Bo. He is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews and many life long friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hux & Lipford Funeral Home to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
