She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wallace Nodwell and Etta Nodwell; her husband Bill; her children, Lauren Trathen and Marcus Trathen (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC; and her grandchildren, Kate Trathen (Praveen Wunnava) and Jack Trathen.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Joan be made to Heritage Hall (heritagehalltheatre.org), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
