He was predeceased by : his mother Opal Louise Brown Capps of North Carolina; and his son Richard Capps. He is survived by : his sister Gailyn; his brother-in-law Kevin Thompson; his niece Kimberly; his daughters, Beverly and Marie; his grandchild Nigela Capps; his stepson Jessie (Patty Moore); his stepgrandson Alexander; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Wyatt, Mason Wakefield and Ava Wakefield; and his cousins, Janice and Don Smith.
