She is survived by: her children, John E. Mathis, Jr., Debra Kay Kidd, Mac Allen Mathis and James David Mathis; and her brother Robert "Bobbie" Bomar. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
