He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Ann Bryant Gillihan; his parents, Nora Gillihan and Marion Talmadge Gillihan; and his sisters, Mildred Harvey and Peggy Hubbard.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Youmans, Mary Higdon (Mitchell) and Melvin T. Gillihan (Lisa). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Munford Funeral Home – Munford Chapel (1136 Tipton Rd, Munford, TN 38058). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location.
