She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Teal and Lettie Lee Scott Maxwell; her daughter Shawanda Ann Darden; her siblings, Elvis, Sam, James, Clara, Nannie Lee, George and Charles Maxwell; her siblings-in-law, Eleanor Patricia of Washington and Clifford Darden; and her nephew Robert Anderson.
She is survived by: her husband James McKinley Darden, Jr.; her children, Jennique Robinson and Malcolm C. Darden; her grandchildren, Taurian Darden (Tiffany), Chrisean Robinson, Kelan Robinson, Courtney Jones and Alika Darden; her siblings-in-law, Yvonne Metcalf (James), Amaryllis McDonald (Elder Samuel) and Kenneth W. Darden; her close friend Barbara Draine; her cousins, Nancy Fishback, Nancy Buchanan, Martha Norwood and Benita Perkins; and her niece Toledo Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
