It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty L. Smith (Murfreesboro, Tennessee), who passed away on October 12, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Henry Harris and Amy Lee Harris; her husband James Edward Smith; her siblings, Samuel Harris, Arthur Lewis Blackmore and Francis Elizabeth Smith; and her aunt Mary Elizabeth Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Samuel Lee Harris, Sr. (Cherry), Robert Thomas Harris (Rhonda) of Fayetteville, TN, Ratina Biggers (Harold) of Shelbyville, TN, Gracie Bailey (Calvin) of Shelbyville, TN and David Mitchell Shaw of Shelbyville, TN; her sister Mattie Eyvonne Harris; her grandchildren, Darwin Harris (Jamie), Sammy Harris, Jr. (Stacy Fisher), Fredrow Harris (Desarai), Retina Evon Valadez (Manuel), Michael Shaw, Kendell Shaw (Stephanie), Calvin Bailey, Jr., Kimberly Knight, Kanika Bailey, Kanisha Hathaway, Robin Foster and Bonita Foster; her daughter-in-law Cherry Ann Harris; and her friends, Sarah Johnson and Elder Susie Wyatt. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
