He was predeceased by: his father Fount Burns; and his siblings, Fount Barnes, Jr., Thomas Barnes, Lee Barnes and Girlene Petty.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jessie Barnes (Brenda) and Suzie Heithcock; and his nephew Brian Keith Petty (Marlene). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
