She was predeceased by: her father George Carter, Jr.; her stepfather William Turner; her aunts, Shirley Black, Shirley Norman and Deborah Thomas; and her niece Maria Cherie Brown.

She is survived by: her mother JoAnn Thomas Carter of Enterprise, AL; her siblings, George Carter III of Murfreesboro, TN, Angela Kerley of Enterprise, AL, Beverly Hart and Patrica Black (Carlos) of Murfreesboro, TN; and her nieces and nephews, Kenisha Jones (Charlie), Lacuana Carter, Sanetra Carter, Chandra Brown, Tasha Carter, Duan Hart, Brian Toran, Jr. and Tyree Carter. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
