It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dora Mai Powell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on March 13, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ford Michael Slea and Mary Ella Been Slea; the father of her children Edward Lyons; her siblings, Josephine Stromatt, Priscilla James, Robert Slea, Ford Michael Slea, Jr. and Thomas Slea; and her sons-in-law, Cliff Gillespie, Neal Pistole and James Dale.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gayle Gillespie and Brenda Dale; her grandchildren, Jacob Schoenly (Lissette), Luke Schoenly (Bridget), Matthew Gillespie (Mary Elizabeth), Lauren Agee (Kelly), Michael Gillespie (Lorie), Niles Pistole (Brooke) and Nealy James (Sean); her great grandchildren, Astrid Schoenly, Dries Schoenly, Holt Gillespie, Cari Beth Gillespie, Autumn Schoenly, Mia Schoenly, Eero Schoenly, Ella Agee, George Agee and Murphy James; and her son-in-law Peter Schoenly.
