He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Lee Neal and Alice Portwood Neal of Leland, MS; and his sister Janice Lee Ferguson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Neal; his sons, Fred Neal, Scott Neal (Sara Little Neal) and Kirk Neal (Cheris Moss Neal); and his grandchildren, Matthew, John Michael, Haley, Buddy, Cole, Blaine, Meredith and Addison. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Instead, he asked that donations be made to St Jude Children's Hospital.
