He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pruitt Gillis Sr. and Annie Bessie Faust Gillis; his sister-in-law Jo Helen Gillis Pybus; his son-in-law James Martin (Mike) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.; and also William Pruitt Gillis Jr. (Billy).
He is survived by: his wife Billie Brooks of Ashford, Alabama.; his daughter Chandra Lynne; his grandchildren, Ashley Marie Harris (Martin Victor Harris) of High Whitsett, NC, Wesley Kyle Martin (Jennifer Marie Daugherty) and Alex Hunter Martin (Tesha Bromley Martin) of Murfreesboro, TN.; and also, Tracie Koen (Karl), Janna Wingfield (Allen) and Kristie DeFazio (Joel).
