It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Isabelle Orr Hamby of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Isbell Orr and Sarah Margaret Lewis Orr; her husband Harvey Howard Hamby; and her sister Daisy King. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Damewood (Randy) of Manchester, TN, Lloyd Hamby (Reba) of Flat Top, TN and Michael Hamby (Melinda) of Murfreesboro, TN; and her sisters, Ella Donaldson of Athens, TN, Beth Bruce of Athens, TN, Judy Hughes of Niota, TN, Glenna Sue Orr of Nashville, TN and Laura Jean Dunbar of Pembroke Pines, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Woodfin Funeral Chapel - Murfreesboro (1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens (5351 TN-153, Hixson, TN 37343).
