It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Smotherman Porter of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, born in Rutherford, Tennessee, who passed away on May 17, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester N. Smotherman and Annie Laurie Smotherman; and her brother Lester "Butch" Smotherman. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Dene Porter, Sr.; her sons, Daniel Porter (Trish) and Jerry Porter, Jr. (Lori); her sister Anna Gay Kizer (Ken); her grandchildren, Katie Porter (Gordon) and Lexi Porter (Ted); her great grandchild Keenan; and her daughter Jackie Morgan (Charlie).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. She was also a frequent donor to the Alzheimer's Association where donations may also be made in her memory.
