He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Smotherman Porter; his parents, Haskell Porter and Georgia Gannon Porter; and his siblings, Bill Porter, Hall Porter, Margie Lamb and Carol West.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Porter (Trish) and Jerry Porter, Jr. (Lori); his siblings, Lonnie Porter (Sandra), Lois Shaw and Joyce Eaton (Pete); his grandchildren, Katie Porter (Gordon) and Lexi Porter (Ted); and his great grandchildren, Keenan and Westley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
