He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Green Byars and Marjorie Lois Griffith Byars; and his sister Patsy Gail Byars. He is survived by: his wife Merrile Ann Byars (Artist) of Murfreesboro; his children, Benjamin Brooks Byars (Tiffany) of Murfreesboro, Jonathan David Byars (Vanessa) of Smyrna, Amy Jo Anderson (Shane) and Joseph Russell Byars (Candice) of Murfreesboro; his grandchildren, Katherine "Katie" Byars, Isabella, Ava, Sophia Byars, Jazmin, Jesse Anderson, Tyler and Sean Byars; and his brother Jack Griffith Byars (Edna).
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Woodbury Church of Christ (100 E Water St, Woodbury, TN 37190).
