She was predeceased by: her parents, Bob Newton and Clara Mae Frazier Newton; her siblings, Marilyn Sue Newton and Samuel Lee Newton; and the father of her children William Michael Smith.

She is survived by: her daughters, Robin Avery (Michael), Bridget Sanborn (Justin) and Sandra Pebbles Rosenbaum (Alan); and her siblings, Faye Stefater (John), Robert Curtsinger (Donna), Ellen Stem (Robert), William Newton and Donald Newton. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
