She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Margaret Cotton and James Stanley Shannon; her husband John Benton "Bubba" Woodfin; and her sisters, Margaret Ann Hodges and Betty Shannon Cloyd.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shannon Parsons (David), Katherine "Kit" Ramsay (Chuck), Melissa Combs (Ron) and Ashley Backer (John); her brother Pat Shannon (Pati); her grandchildren, Kati Ramsay (Katie), Charlie Ramsay (Amanda), Hannah Margaret Allen (Grant Schumacher), Grace Combs, Meg Combs, Ann Frances Killebrew (Douglas), Katherine Backer and Jack Backer; and her great grandchildren, Ramsay Kate, Oliver, Addison, Ella, Lucy and Woodfin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and caretakers.
Memorials may be made in Kay's honor to Central Christian Church, the Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Foundation, or the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro.
