She was predeceased by: her father Thomas Heckert. She is survived by: her mother Emma Jean Treftz (Ken); her sons, Jason Melendez and Reza Mirghavami; her daughters-in-law, Jennifer Melendez and Libby Mirghavami; her grandchildren, Cadence, Riley, Callie, Anastasia and Arielle; and her siblings, Michael Flatt, Deborah Sanford (Adam), Ramona Mangrum and CiGi Horne (Gary).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Stroke Association in Leah's honor.
