She was predeceased by : her parents, Howard T. Brewer and Edna Keith Brewer; her brothers, Fred, Wayne, Donny and Kenny Brewer; and her brother-in-law James Newman.

She is survived by : her husband John N. Newman; her children, Steven Newman and April Newman Starling (Eric); her siblings, Marvin Brewer (Judy), Carolyn Koralewski, Peggy Stacey (Charles), Modine Brewer, Wilma Brewer and Kathy Del; her sisters-in-law, Shri-Lahn Newman and Marie Kirby; her grandchildren, Noah Newman, Amity Reed, Trevor Starling, Jacob McVay and Joshua McVay; and her pet Maggie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
