It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lucy Underwood of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover C., Sr. and Ruby Mae Cornelison Carter; her former husband Thomas G. Morris; her husband Roy Underwood; her siblings, Grover C. Carter, Jr., James H. Carter and Christine Carter Bandy; and her stepsons, Christopher Underwood and Phillip Underwood.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Johnson, Randy Morris (Cindy), David Morris, James Morris and Jackie Morris (Dawn); her stepsons, Randle Underwood and Clifford Underwood; her grandchildren, Micheal Johnson, Melissa Wray, Tracy Mickells, Stacy Morris and Bishop Morris; and her sister Lucille Thomason. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Woodfin Memorial Chapel (1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Rocky Glade Cemetery (1970 Shoemaker Rd, Eagleville, TN 37060).
