He was predeceased by: his parents, Theadore Yancey and Ruby Haynes Yancey. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Anderson Yancey; his children, Michael Shane Yancey, Sean Douglas Hicks, Melissa Michelle Parrish and Dena Irene Underwood; and his siblings, Thomas Yancey of Roger Yancey and Ruby Tidwell.
