With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Peggy Jo Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on January 25, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Caldwell and Louise Taylor Caldwell; her husband Lee J. Smith; and her sister Judy LaFont. She is survived by: her children, Karen Smith Tolbert (Lonnie), Belinda Smith Pate (Mark) and Bradley Stephen Smith (Kaylei) of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren, Mandi Tolbert, Eric Moore (Colleen), Amory Pate Godley (Ben), Olivia Pate Blackmon (Mark) and Susanna Tolbert Gentry (Caleb); and her great grandchildren, Judah, Ellie and Baylor Godley.
