He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Delores Butler; his children, Mary Beth Scango (Daniel) of Murfreesboro, Melissa Brading (Bryan) of Charlotte, Alicia Hall (David) of Homer and Philip Joseph "PJ" Butler of Arvada, Colorado; his grandchildren, Captain Jordan Scango, Mary Catherine Phillips, Zachary Scango, Tyler Brading, Bryson Brading, Kyle Brading, Chase Brading, Phoebe Brading, Rylyn Hall, Zaley Hall and Marlowe Hall; his great grandchild Briar Phillips; and his siblings, Robert Butler, Regina Lally and Katherine Murray. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Phil's memory to the Fisher House Foundation, reflecting his lifelong commitment to veterans and military families.
