We announce the death of Robert Freeman Carlton of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 83. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hubert and Mattie Lois Lovvorn Carlton; and his granddaughter Karis Rose Carlton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Williams Carlton; his brother Donald Carlton; his children, Max Carlton (Shanna), Shana Hopkins (Scott), Bart Carlton and Mark Carlton (Janet); and his grandchildren, Blake Hopkins, Aiden, Nathan, Marina, Cambria and David Carlton. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Woodfin Memorial Chapel (1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
