He was predeceased by: his daughter Sarah Cannon; his parents, L. Carl Cannon and Sally Cannon; his brother Junior Cannon; his mother-in-law Carolyn Butcher; and his brother-in-law Steve Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Joni Cannon; his daughter Leah; his son-in-law Kyle Edwards; his grandchildren, Lola Edwards, Crew Edwards and Ella Edwards; his siblings, Gary Cannon, Margaret Ogle and Doris Poppelreiter of East Tennessee; his brother-in-law Bud Gilbert; and his father-in-law Allen Butcher. He is also survived by extended family in Atlanta, along with many cousins.
