It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vera B Brooks of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, born in Milton, Tennessee, who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Thomas and Helen Bratcher Bogle Thomas; her husband Gordon Brooks; her sons, Shawn Patrick Brown and John Bowen (Kathy); her grandchildren, Nicole Leigh Rouis and Justin Brown; and her siblings, Neal Thomas and Mary Pearl Merriman.
She is survived by: her children, Katrina Lynn Kratche (David Scott) of Lewisville, OH, Cathy Lester (Woody) of Murfreesboro and Zach Brown (Lori) of Piney Flats, TN; her stepdaughter Patricia Traglia (Ronald) of Huntsville, AL; her sister Florena Crump of Murfreesboro; and her grandchildren, Christina Sorrells, Jennifer Battle, Sandie Waters, Mendy Cole, Corey Brown (Lindsey), Andrew Wilson (Vera), Katelyn Brown, Joshua Brown (Ruby) and Nicholas Brown (Rebecca). She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gentry-Smith Funeral Home (303 Murfreesboro Rd, Woodbury, TN 37190). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery (900 Murfreesboro Rd, Woodbury, TN 37190).
