He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Thornton and Sarah Thornton; and his brother Richard Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Jean Thornton of Murfreesboro, TN; his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Trump (Jim); his stepchildren, Mechelle Perry (Shane) and Jerry Ingram of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandsons, James Trump, III, Derek Trump, Christopher Trump and Joshua Galvez; and his sister Elaine Linkous (Gary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
