He was predeceased by: his spouses, Nerene Mitchell and Gloria Mitchell; his parents, Willie Mitchell and Elora Mitchell; his siblings, James Mitchell, Valka Cook, Vivian Anderson and Lynette Johnson; and his daughter-in-law Cathy Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Dan Mitchell, Joanne Freeman (Frank) and Suzanne Mitchell. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
