He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Claxton and Ida Bell Claxton; his brothers, Robert, Bill and Garland Claxton; and his wife Jacqueline Butcher Claxton.
He is survived by: his sons, Ronald Roy (Amy) and Derek Paul Claxton (Ashley); and his stepdaughters, Lisa Ledger and Sherry Velasquez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
