He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeffery McKinnon and Daisy McKinnon; and his brothers, James McKinnon and Thomas Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McKinnon; his sister Dorothy Bracey; his children, Tonya McKinnon, Jayson McKinnon, Bobby McKinnon, Ashly McKinnon and Shandrita; his niece Theresa McKinnon-Jordan (Alex); and his nephew William Stevenson. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Terrell Broady Funeral Home, Inc. (3855 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37218). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park (660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204).
