He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Naekel Brau and Charlie Frederick Brau. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Virginia Shepherd; and his stepchildren, Virginia Elizabeth Duncan (Scot), Jennifer Anne Ufnar (Dave), Rebecca Lynn Petersen (Kris) and Kurt Garrett LeForest Shepherd (Sarah). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
