He is survived by: his wife Frances Reece; his daughters, Kaila and Kiara Reece; his grandson Asher Reece; his stepchildren, William Griffey Jr., Kimberly Watkins (Rashad) and Jeremy Griffey (Lauren); his stepgrandchildren, Jaylen Watkins, Jeremy Griffey and Jackson Griffey; his sister Jamela Bohannon (Darwin); his siblings-in-law, Carol Wade, Harold Hockett I (Marion) and Horace Hockett (Kiwanis); his aunts, Carol Noel, Donnel Wordlaw and Carolyn Jean Jones (Joe Calvin); his uncle Wayne Reece (Donna); his nieces and nephews, Kristie Green (Reggie), James Wade II (Nicole), Marcie Jarrett (Marco), Harold Hockett II, Brian Hockett (Rachel), Horace Hockett II (LaTonya), Tonesha Sawyers, Shanaye Sawyers and Jatoria Sawyers; his goddaughters, Denise and Danielle Phillips; his cousins, Shayla Noel Spaulding (Eric Green), Ronnell Wordlaw Griffin, Mia Abernathy (Vincent), Derrick Jones (Tiffany) and Quincy Wordlaw (Janelle); and his friends, Lamont Lester, Daren Moore, Herb, Pam Phillips, Jimmy Garret, Reggie Holder, Chad Jones, Taveo Perry, Michael Minnis, Chris Scott and Benton Bunch.
Viewing was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the New Generation Funeral Home (2930 Murfreesboro Pike, Antioch, TN 37013). Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Born Again Church (858 W Trinity Ln, Nashville, TN 37207). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
