He is survived by: his significant other Molly McCracken; his sons, Randal H. Smith (Sandra), Gregory D. Smith (Jan Read) and Gary T. Smith (Rebecca); his sisters-in-law, Sally Durfey and Sandra M. Jacobsen; and his grandchildren, Stuart (Jiyoung Ryu), Thyra (Tom Rowley), Lee, Jason (Karen), Sam, Keanan (Jessica Indyk), Bradley (Katlin) and Shannon. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
