He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Gardner and Christine Cruse Gardner; his wife Betty Darlene Gardner; his son Darrell Gardner; and his brother Homer Gardner.

He is survived by: his brother JD Gardner; and his close friend Beverly Crunk.
