He is survived by: his children, Cassandra Lynn Vitella (Paul), John Saunders and Brett Saunders (Crystal); his grandchildren, Stephen Vokoun, Tanner Vokoun, Kylee Connelly and Malyia Saunders; his sister Linda Colaprete (Edward, Sr.); and his nephews, Craig Adelizzi, Eric Kroner, Matthew and Colaprete.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Howard's name to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center SICU (https://give.vanderbilthealth.org) (Surgical Intensive Care Unit) in appreciation for the love and care provided to Howard.
