He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyd McCaskill and Foy Aline Blanton McCaskill; and his son-in-law William "Billy" E. Cothran. He is survived by: his wife Bettie Holt McCaskill; his children, Tammy Cothran, Donna Tolleson and James "Jim" McCaskill, Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Shawn (Kim), Tiffany, Jamey, Jordan (Andrea) and Cameron; his sister Kathy "Kat" McCaskill McRae (Daniel "Gary"); and his sibling's children, Branson Boyd McRea (Michelle) and Stephanie McRea Greenfield (Zachary). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
