He was predeceased by : his parents, Egbert Schmittou and Ann Schmittou; his siblings, Leo, Harry and Gladys; his nephew John Schmittou; and his daughter Gwendolyn Majors (John).

He is survived by : his brother Larry Schmittou. He is also survived by 10 Great-Grandchildren.
