He was predeceased by: his wife Sally Corkran Simpkins; his parents, F. M. Simpkins and Susie Tidwell Simpkins; and his siblings, Zanie Taylor, Jean Rodgers, Frankie Crouch, Mary Nell Mills and William Simpkins.
He is survived by: his children, Susie Fleming (John) of Mountain Home, AR and Sam Simpkins (Jolie) of Dickson, TN; his granddaughters, Annie Grace Groves (Garret) of Rector, AR and Julie Fleming of Mountain Home, AR.; and his sister Jane Simpkins of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
