He was predeceased by: his daughter Josephine Davenport Barringer (Jodie); and his parents, Lewis T. Barringer and Josephine Barringer of Memphis, TN. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Barringer; his son John William Barringer Jr.; and his grandchildren, Libby Smith McLellan, Leila Barringer Smith, John William Barringer III, Carly Michelle Barringer and Johnny Barringer.
