He is survived by: his mother Anita Shuck; his son Joseph Roy Gatrost; his grandchildren, Karlie Elizabeth Gatrost and Sylous William Roy Gatrost; and his sisters, Elaine Moran, Kathy Deming (David) and Jayne Grove. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
