Gurley; his wife Rita Byrd Gurley; his children, Angie Sonksen (Mitch) and Christopher Gurley; his grandchildren, Hayden Harville, Caleb Gurley, Jacob Gurley and Sam Sonksen; and his siblings, Larry Gurley, Cherry Carden and Cindy Gowens (Garvin).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Roselawn Funeral Home (5350 NW Broad St, Murfreesboro, TN 37129). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
