It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Jean Hartzog of Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on January 7, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father James Plaxico; her husband Mark Hartzog; and her sister Patricia Plaxico. She is survived by: her children, Clay Hartzog of Tullahoma, TN and Julie Garcia (Roy) of Nashville, TN; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Beatty and Sebastian Garcia.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Walden's Puddle, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Frist Art Museum, and First Presbyterian Church of Nashville.
