As Val departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Val may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Val leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, N. J. Medlin and Velma Medlin (Battle); and her husband James Earl Harvey (Jim). She is survived by: her children, Mark and Martha Burkey; her grandchildren, James and Jordan Burkey; and her great grandchild Aiden Harvey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3009 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Williamson Memorial Gardens (3009 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064).
