He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Artman Levi and Icia Joann Vanover; his wife Janice Idol; his children, Leonard Gary Vanover, Jr. (Scarlett), Gary Lee Mason, Nicole Vanover McGlamery (Mark), Michelle Burchfield and Sarah Moore Combs; his brothers, Ronnie Vanover and Ralph Vanover; his grandchildren, Lindsey Vanover, Taylor Reed, Nathan Reed, Jordan Vanover, Halynn Vanover, Kylee Vanover, Landyn Vanover, Ace Vanover, Rocky Vanover and Greyson Combs; his great grandchildren, Brantley Plucinik and Rosemary Plucunik; and the mother of his children Penny England. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
