He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Fortner (Carey) and Erastus Fortner; his siblings, Leila Thompson (Tommy), Lillie Lasley (Ray), Frank Fortner (Clearcie), Theodore Fortner, Landon Fortner (Hazel), Clay Fortner, Mable Leyes (Frank) and Cleo Ellen; and his parents-in-law, Rev. Garret and Bonnie Vaughn.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Vaughn; his daughters, Cynthia Logan (Johnny), Crystal Patton (Lennie) and Carla Brewer (Craig); his grandchildren, Kayla Franklin (Derek), Connor Buis (Sarah), Mikinlea, Josef Buis, Cryslenn Patton, Landree Brewer, Ridge Brewer and Josie Brewer; his great grandchildren, Raleigh Buis and Mazie Ann Franklin; his sisters, Eula Hildebrand (Ray) and Lola Davis (Stanley); and his sister-in-law Virginia Fortner.
