He was predeceased by: his parents, Will C. Hale and Mary Ellen Dial Fair; and his brother Dallas Ogden. He is survived by: his wife Judy Lynn Williams Hale of Newbern, Tennessee; his sons, James D. Hale (Rachel) of Chicago, Dennis Hale (Lydia) of Chicago and David Hale of Chicago, Illinois; his stepson James David Hale of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his siblings, Dennis Ogden (Donna) of Milan and Dianne Kurtendial (Jimmy) of Ridgely, Tennessee; and his sister-in-law Sandy Ogden. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
