He was predeceased by : his parents, Leslie Reubin Richardson and Lilly Otis Evans Richardson; his wife Mary Evelyn Davis Richardson; and his sisters, Marie Ivey, Louise Ivey and Faye Faught.

He is survived by : his children, Jeff Richardson of Newbern, Tennessee and Julie Sheppard (David) of Newbern; and his grandchildren, Chandler Joe Richardson Sheppard and Mary Katherine Sheppard.
